Botulinum toxin and wrinkles


 

Treatment using botulinum toxin is the most commonly performed process in aesthetic medicine. Botulinum toxin blocks presynaptic receptors in the neuromuscular junction, and thus prevents the release of acetylcholine. The effect after administering botulinum toxin develops within 14 days and is maintained from 3 to 6 months. An alternative method of administration of the toxin is called mezobotoks which if the combination of the action of botulinum mesotherapy. Treatment with botulinum toxin is carried out in order to eliminate facial wrinkles, e.g. in the forehead, eyebrows and eyes, as well as in the treatment of hyperhidrosis.

• Hypersensitivity to ingredients

• Peripheral neuropathy (myasthenia gravis, Lambert Eaton syndrome)

• Medication: aminoglycosides, aminochinolony, D-penicillamine, cyclosporine, tetracycline

• Pregnancy and lactation
