Platelet rich plasma

What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is an autologous substance obtained from patient's blood and is rich in growth factors that initiate the natural process of skin regeneration and reconstruction. Rich plasma is obtained immediately before surgery. The treatment involves taking 20 ml of blood into vacuum tubes. The blood is centrifuged for separation of plasma from erythrocytes. The platelet rich plasma obtained is administered under local anaesthesia to the treatment area using the intradermoterapy technique.
